Dr. Joy Spence made history in 1997 by becoming the world’s first female Master Blender at Appleton Estate rum.  The brand wanted our help in creating awareness and social reach by telling Joy’s inspirational story to a female, cocktail loving audience here in the UK. Enter Sharmadean Reid and The Stackworld. Stackworld is the ultimate destination for meaningful connections with mission-driven women via an app and live events.

Social content created by The Stackworld was shared with their highly engaged audience across their social media platforms, website, and blog, generating reach and engagement. User-generated content (UGC) was also cultivated and shared by influencers and guests, further amplifying the brand’s presence and interaction within the community.

Through this strong partnership, and aligned values, we were able to curate an experience that deeply connected with the Stackworld audience, meeting them in a female empowered ‘live discussion’ space they know well. We crafted a customised, genuine, and unforgettable experience with the brand’s Master Blender and Stackworld’s CEO. This yielded remarkable success, amplifying awareness and reach for Appleton Estate rum within an authentic and women driven community. It firmly established Appleton Estate Rum as a top choice for cocktails with Stackworld’s audience. This resulted in them publishing inspiring social content like ‘how to elevate your supper clubs’ in which they included the brand. The collaboration continued with the brand becoming a sponsor of the annual Stackworld Women and Power summit, allowing guests to sample Appleton Estate signature serves and learn about the rum.

Loved for their bold bourbon and great spirit, Wild Turkey wanted to create brand awareness for their premium bourbon with spirit drinkers via an authentic and activated community.

 We came on board to help and identified the largest chopper motorcycle festival in the UK, fittingly named the 101 Run (a nod to Wild Turkey’s ‘101’ Bourbon!). In collaboration with DICE magazine, the 101 Run is held annually at Dreamland in Margate. We successfully negotiated for the brand to become the official spirits sponsor of this exciting festival.

The brand was a natural fit for sponsoring the pre and after show parties, supporting local venues and giving attendees the perfect opportunity to sample this exceptional bourbon. Partnering with the 101 Run gave genuine, collaborative content opportunities across social media showcasing the brand prominently throughout the weekend (and beyond). Visitors had the chance to sample Wild Turkey at venues around the town – Picklebacks at Palm Pizzeria, Old Fashioneds at The Albion Rooms and Wild Turkey Iced Teas at Black Axe Throwing Co.  

The outcome included widespread shared content across social media, as well as exposure on DICE, 101, and Dreamland websites and newsletters. DICE-owned shoots were distributed across their social accounts. The 101 Run drove significant impact for the brand by engaging attendees and leveraging powerful partnerships with the key collaborators.

At terry&fran, we forge deep partnerships with brands to gain a deep understanding of what resonates with new, culturally diverse audiences. We actively seek authentic collaborators who share aligned values with the brand and possess the ability to expand its reach to a broader audience. One such standout partner we identified is Thy Barber, East London Barber brand renowned for their premium, American heritage values and super cool vibe.

Our approach was to create a series of ‘Bourbon x Barbering’ in-store moments that we captured for use on owned social media. This included offering customers a Wild Turkey 101 Old Fashioned with every haircut and a live music in-store which increased brand awareness and delivered exclusive, memorable customer experiences which we then amplified across social media platforms. 

We also extended the reach of Wild Turkey x Thy Barber from in-store events to on-the-road activations. We’ve showcased the collaboration at prominent events like the VIP Tepee at Black Deer Festival, Joseph Cheaney customer nights, and hosted a memorable ‘Trimdependence Day’ party in partnership with The Bourbon, a well known whiskey bar on the Roman Road in London.

Big Drop Beer sought our expertise to expand their reach within the low ABV drinker community on social media, elevate brand visibility, and enhance brand recognition.

terry&fran collaborated with Big Drop, devising a comprehensive social media strategy tailored to engage low ABV drinkers. By reviewing data driven insights, we ensured optimal performance and guided future strategies to amplify their brand message. Our services included strategic social advertising campaigns, dynamic content creation, and proactive community management across Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter platforms.  

Additionally, we directed and produced engaging photography and short-form films to further bolster their online presence across social and web.

When Koko Kanu joined forces with the iconic RIXO Autumn Winter ‘Studio 54’ show for London Fashion Week they knew they needed to make a statement. That’s where we stepped in.

Our approach? To craft compelling social media content to captivate and resonate with a new fashion-loving audience. Through strategic storytelling and visually stunning imagery, we brought the world of Koko Kanu’s coconut rum cocktails to life at this exclusive event.

From glamorous cocktail shots to stylishly dressed women, we curated a social media experience that left followers wanting to enjoy a taste of Koko Kanu dressed head to toe in RIXO. By leveraging the power of hashtags, tagging key influencers, and fostering meaningful interactions, we ensured maximum engagement and brand visibility.

We implemented social media advertising campaigns to coincide with pivotal retail dates, including Black Friday, to boost grocery sales. This led to an unprecedented sell-out on Amazon (twice!). Our anchor influencers remained steadfast in their support of the campaign, extending their reach through Koko Christmas giveaways and engaging cocktail-making segments on popular podcasts. As part of the Koko moments the brand also supported the RIXO show at Cafe de Paris where we shot content to amplify and align both brands across social media.

Within the Koko Community, we cultivated a robust sense of loyalty, incentivising high-value user-generated content (UGC) creation. This approach not only increased social media followings but also translated into purchase intent, fostering a dynamic and engaged online community.

Appleton Estate is a premium Jamaica rum. They wanted our help raising awareness of their premium Jamaica rum and their support of emerging talent in the vibrant British jazz scene. 

The brand’s main objective was to showcase their official partnership with the London Jazz Festival and promote the sponsorship of shows throughout the city. The ultimate objective was to connect with a music and drinks-loving audience IRL and on social. 

Terry&Fran produced the Appleton Estate Rum x London Jazz Festival Instagram-first campaign. At the heart of our approach was the close collaboration with the brand, the artists, management teams, the venues, and influencers, all of whom helped us bring the campaign to life through social media. Working closely with headline artists, we curated authentic and compelling content that not only highlighted the rum but also honoured the musical roots of the talent. Our team directed a series of ‘Inspired by Jamaica’ short-form films which took the audience behind the scenes as the artists prepped for their live performances and also captured the live shows.

To amplify the positive energy across social media, we extended invitations and hosted influential tastemakers in fashion, film, and music to join us at the live shows. This strategic collaboration resulted in a wealth of organic content generated throughout the campaign, providing significant exposure for Appleton Estate rum and its signature Mai Tai serve.

The campaign delivered high level brand awareness and reach leveraging a strategic blend of organic and paid social media tactics across a wide array of platforms, including owned channels, artist pages, venue accounts, and partner channels.

The Appleton Estate Rum heritage is deeply intertwined with Jamaican culture and the vibrant world of sound system culture has played a pivotal role in shaping its identity. To celebrate Jamaica’s ongoing influence on the vibrant British jazz scene, the brand curated a unique rum and vinyl box subscription series ‘Jamaican Jazz Series’ in collaboration with Moses Boyd.

Terry&Fran were asked to bring the Jamaican Jazz Series to life through a creative and social-first campaign. Music from artists Moses Boyd, CTRL, Theon Cross and Demae featured on each vinyl record together with premium rum cocktails in each box. Our approach focused on narrating each artist’s compelling story whilst authentically showcasing the brand’s commitment to jazz and its premium Jamaican rum within their rich heritage narrative.

We worked with the brand, artists, management and locations to direct and produce short-form social film and photography content that told their engaging ‘Inspired by Jamaica’ stories and their love of music and rum. We shot, art directed, designed and created the cover notes for each of the vinyl covers to tell the story of each artist. In addition, we developed a campaign microsite designed to seamlessly transition from social media platforms and drive conversions for the box subscription, available through The Bottle Club.

With a strategic blend of owned, earned, and paid social media, we increased brand visibility and helped drive box subscription sales. By leveraging reach, engagement, and conversions, we reached a new audience passionate about rum, music, and lifestyle. Our campaign also successfully drove trial of Appleton Estate rum and premium cocktails, enhancing brand affinity and driving strong results.
